Shanxi Coking Coal Shaqu No. 1 Mine Suspended

Shanxi Coking Coal announced on December 14 that the company’s Huajin Coking Coal received the Luliang City Emergency Management Bureau and the Luliang City Local Coal Mine Safety Supervision Administration’s “About Ordering the Shaqu No. 1 Coal Mine of Huajin Coking Coal Co., Ltd. to suspend production for rectification.” “Notice” requires Huajin Coking Coal Shaqu No. 1 Coal Mine to suspend production for rectification from now on, and the suspension and rectification time will not be less than 3 months.

On December 13, an accident occurred while cleaning the coal bunker at the Shaqu No. 1 coal mine of Shanxi Coking Coal Group Huajin Coking Coal Co., Ltd. located in Liulin County, Shanxi Province, resulting in four people being buried. After treatment, one person’s vital signs were stable, and the other three died after resuscitation failed.

The announcement shows that the project of Huajin Coking Coal Co., Ltd. (Huajin Coking Coal), a subsidiary of the company that holds 51% of the shares, is constructed by Shaanxi Hongming Construction Co., Ltd.

Currently, Shaqu No. 1 Coal Mine has suspended production, and relevant government departments are conducting investigations into the cause of the accident. Huajin Coking Coal is fully implementing rectification measures as required and will resume production after passing the acceptance procedures.

Shaqu No. 1 Coal Mine has an annual approved production capacity of 4.5 million tons, accounting for 9.2% of the company’s total approved production capacity. Huajin Coking Coal has made every effort to carry out the investigation and rectification of potential safety hazards, focusing on special rectification of outsourcing teams and outsourcing projects, strictly and meticulously implementing rectifications, and striving for early acceptance and resumption of production.

Shanxi Coking Coal stated that the company has learned lessons from the accident, effectively improved the safety awareness of all employees, further tightened safety responsibilities, and ensured safe production.

Shanxi Coking Coal issued an announcement on November 27 that the company’s affiliated Jinxing Company received the “On-site Processing Decision of Coal Mine Safety Supervision and Administrative Law Enforcement Documents” from the Luliang City Emergency Management Bureau and the Luliang City Local Coal Mine Safety Supervision and Administration Bureau on November 25. , requiring Jinxing Company’s Xiegou Mine to suspend production for rectification. An accident occurred at Xiegou Mine on November 24, resulting in one death.

An announcement released on December 5 showed that Jinxing Company is a 90%-owned subsidiary of the company, and its Xiegou Mine has an annual approved production capacity of 15 million tons, accounting for 31% of the company’s total approved production capacity. According to preliminary statistics, the Xiegou Mine was suspended for a total of 11 days due to the accident, which is expected to affect about 400,000 tons of raw coal output. The specific impact of this incident on the company’s overall production operations and operating performance must be subject to the results of the annual audit and confirmation by the audit agency.
