Kpler ship tracking data shows that in November 2023, Russia’s seaborne coal export volume was 11.6873 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.10%. It was the fourth consecutive month-on-month decrease and a year-on-year decrease of 21.02%. In November, Russia exported the most seaborne coal to mainland China, reaching 3.2052 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 35.18% and a year-on-year decrease of 49.72%, accounting for 27% of Russia’s total exports.
The export volume of seaborne coal to Turkey was 2.3338 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 53.54%, and a year-on-year increase of 20.89%; the export volume to South Korea was 1.1991 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 15.98%, a year-on-year decrease of 60.55%.
Exports to India were 694,200 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 64.31%, and a year-on-year decrease of 44.68%; exports to Taiwan were 690,500 tons, a month-on-month increase of 78.71%, and a year-on-year increase of 8.98%.
From January to November, Russia exported a total of 159 million tons of seaborne coal, a decrease of 0.08% compared with the same period last year. Among them, 64.9255 million tons were exported to mainland China, a year-on-year increase of 23.37%; accounting for 41%.
