On January 18, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in the entire society in 2023.
In 2023, the electricity consumption of the whole society will be 9224.1 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%.
In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the primary industry consumed 127.8 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%; the secondary industry consumed 6,074.5 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%; the tertiary industry consumed 1,669.4 billion kWh, A year-on-year increase of 12.2%; urban and rural residents’ domestic electricity consumption was 1,352.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%.
