Central India Coalfields plans to expand production capacity to 200 million tons in next 5 years

Central Coalfields (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India (CIL), has announced plans to expand its annual production capacity to 200 million tons in the next five years.

For this fiscal year (April 2023 to March 2024), Central Coalfield Company’s coal production target is 84 million tons. Officials from the Central Coalfield Company stated that they plan to expand the company’s production capacity by 100 million tons in the next five years.

 “Our Ashoka coal project (in Chatra district) will become operational in the next few years. We have already floated a tender for its 20 million tonnes capacity.”

Central Coalfields also plans to expand the capacity of the Chandragupt coal project in Hazaribag by 15 million tons, and the tender has been completed.

In addition, plans to expand the production capacity of Sanghamitra coal mine by 20 million tons in Chhatra district are also in progress.
