The latest data from the General Administration of Customs of Mongolia shows that in January 2024, Mongolia’s coal export volume was 6.5956 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.0621 million tons, an increase of 86.66%; a month-on-month decrease of 415,400 tons, a decrease of 5.92%, and a decrease for the second consecutive month.
In January, Mongolia’s coal exports were US$803 million, a year-on-year increase of 42.06% and a month-on-month decrease of 3.53%. Based on this, the average export price is calculated to be US$121.76/ton, a year-on-year decrease of US$38.23/ton, and a month-on-month increase of US$3.02/ton.
Data show that in January 2024, all Mongolian coal was exported to China , with an export volume of 6.5956 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 90.34% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.86%. The export volume was US$803 million, and the average export price was US$121.76/ton, a year-on-year decrease of US$37.87/ton, and a month-on-month increase of US$3.07/ton.
In terms of coal types , in January 2024, Mongolia’s bituminous coal export volume was 6.3658 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 82.76%, a month-on-month decrease of 7.63%; anthracite coal export volume was 4,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 182.43%, a month-on-month increase of 31.43%; others Coal export volume was 225,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 362.42% and a month-on-month increase of 94.85%.
